Meeting with a plastic surgeon is an important step in identifying your particular cosmetic needs. Ideally, scheduled appointments should be on-time and unhurried to allow for a complete and thorough assessment by your plastic surgeon. We realize that sometimes there can be unexpected events that can cause a person to be late or have to cancel a visit. Should this happen with your plastic surgeon appointment, we ask that you please respect the time of others and call the office to reschedule.

Your Consultation
Your first plastic surgeon consultation begins by contacting our office via phone at 301-564-4466 or email at info@thebeautydoctor.com. You can expect procedures to be explained as well as additional information sent to you prior to your visit. This allows you to prepare questions for your plastic surgeon about your personal situation and to enlighten and stimulate further discussion. You will receive an office registration form to help minimize paperwork and allow more time with the plastic surgeon. Please bring a photo ID with you.

During your first visit with the plastic surgeon, you will view an informative videotape of the procedure(s) you are considering and enjoy a personalized, private consultation with Dr. Mausner. You will be examined and your specific needs will be addressed during this appointment. A treatment plan according to your specific needs will be developed by the plastic surgeon.

After this unhurried time with Dr. Mausner, you will meet a member of our plastic surgery staff for more information. She will provide you with a surgical cost analysis for the procedures you desire and a surgery date, convenient for your busy lifestyle, will be selected.

You will again meet with the plastic surgeon approximately 2 - 3 weeks prior to your scheduled procedure. At that appointment the treatment plan will again be reviewed in detail, photos will be taken and you will receive all pre- / post-operative instructions and prescriptions.

Surgical fees are due three weeks prior to your scheduled procedure. These fees include all routine pre- and post-operative care.
